Month-Long Travel Leg Stopover - 北京 (Beijing)

When we set off for Chengdu and Tibet, we had, with the permission of our Boss of course, left most of our barang barangs in our Beijing apartment. Hence we headed back to Beijing, on a freakin 48hour train ride no less, to reclaim our belongings before we set off for Hong Kong, our final destination before returning to Singapore.

The train ride was erm... quite an experience. First, the tour company had FORGOTTEN to get our train tickets, thus we ended up with hard-sleepers instead of soft-sleepers. Second, 48hours on board a moving train, the Lhasa express no less, is no joke - I got motion sickness on Day 2. Third, sharing a 'cabin' with 4 other China men was a test of patience, especially when 2 of them got drunk and one drunk uncle puked into our food -_-"; they were pretty nice towards us though, callin us 孩子们 and offering us some food from their abundant food bag.

Finally on Day 3 of the train ride, at 0750hrs, we arrived at Beijing West Station.

When we finally got back to our apartment (ahh.. home sweet home), we settled down to pack our stuff, then made a trip down to the office to visit our colleagues and to distribute souvenirs.

The final 2 days in Beijing was spent meeting up with our dearest Ang Dau, Jin Kian and Vera, over our fave Jap buffet lunch and KTV. Too busy catchin up to take pics of that. Also, we filled two 20kg boxes and one 10kg box with our stuff to be couriered back to Singapore, courtesy of my mum (Actually, the final weight of our couriered stuff was 67.7kg - thank god we didn't have to lug THAT from Shenzhen to Hong Kong!).

After 9 weeks of internship, considering the 2-3 weeks that we went without a fridge, this is our stash of bacardi breezers:

Sure miss our Beijing place, now that we're back in Singapore. Loads of memories in Beijing and that apartment. =\
