Musing: When the blogging frequencies increase, the exams are approaching...
Went to see the YIH doc yesterday cuz the swelling in the knee has yet to go down, even though the wound has already recovered. Mum kept scaring me with horror stories like how her grandmother's knee got infected beneath the skin surface (hinting that her wound resembled mine) and the doc had to do pretty gross stuff to remove the pus build up when she finally went to the doc.
Ok.
So I went to the doc and got the same doc who saw me a week earlier. He stared at the knee and went "hmm.. How come still swollen ah?".
hmm.
Like.
I'm supposed to know?
So he proposed to stick a needle in and try to draw whatever-is-inside out. Now, having heard my mum recount her painful stories of doctors sticking needles into her knee and drawing water out from her joint, I wasn't exactly keen on his proposition. But it seemed to be the only way to find out what lies within (haha. I like the sound of that.), hence I went along with it.
And so he poked. And tried to draw back the plunger, but seemed to have much difficulty doing so. So he concluded, after drawing out 1cc of my blood, that it was a blood clot inside, and told me that it would dissipate on its own. He then told the nurse to bandage it up for me. Yeap, you didn't read it wrongly. Bandage. And so, my knee ended up lookin like a bak zhang all because of the small needle prick. Was pretty much amused.
Ok. That's it for the knee thing. At least the knee is 'runnable' now. Can't function without exercise.
Next up, GBH presentation tomorrow morning. Wish me luck. She is so going to become cross-eyed reading our report. Not like I care.
