Selamat Hari Raya and a belated Happy Children's Day to everyone. What a relief it must have been to most working adults to have a day off in the middle of the week. It was, at least to me.
Spent the day catching up on sleep and dropped a visit to HX ma'am's place - despite the redness of her legs, the remnants of dengue seems to be gone; at least ma'am looks much better. =)
Went Paragon for a nice dinner at Spaghetti's, followed by dessert at Cenele Patisserie Chocolaterie, located at the 1st storey of Shaw Towers, along the sidewalk, next to the McDonald's outdoor ice cream area:
We tried the Banana Passionfruit Sorbet with Dark Chocolate:
and a couple of Macroons - (Clockwise, starting from left) Dark Chocolate, Passionfruit and Raspberry:
Completing the picture was this berries tea that tingled our tastebuds:
The sorbet was refreshing and was nicely complimented by the dark chocolate. There were crushed nuts at the bottom of the soret too. Good stuff! The Macroons were damn ex at $2.30 each, but each bite was fantastic. They weren't too sweet and had a nice bite and chewy texture. Last but not the least, the tea was fragrant with the berries lending a tart taste that was a little too sour for my liking, but nice nevertheless.
Noticed the food that the people around us were ordering looked pretty appealing too; if we weren't already full from our meal, I'm sure we would try one or two of the stuff on the menu in addition to our desserts.
Overall, would recommend this place to those who love chocolate and good desserts in a small quaint shop on the busy shopping street. Might be a little cramped and crowded in the small shop, not to mention that the prices are a bit, well, pricey, so avoid going during peak periods and consider yourself warned about burning a possible hole in your pocket.
On another note, I've recently joined my company's newly set up dragonboat team. I must say that I'm enjoying the sport a lot. Feels great to sweat it out under the hot sun, meaning I'll get a nice tan and workout at the same time. Feeling so much more alert with the exercise now. Sure lends a balance to the accummulated lethargy from sitting in the office throughout the week.
Alright. Should really get some sleep now. Start of the new work week tomorrow. sigh. Time sure flies when we're working.
josh, signin off.
