Feels So Good To Ache

Finally, we did something other than eating. For months now, the only thing we seem to be hopelessly passionate about is food. All kinds. Geared towards Western food somehow. Food - one of the first on the list of Maslow' Hierachy of Needs, all the way up there with air, water and sex. ah well. Somehow meet ups with people always revolve around food. (Here, the images of various gatherings with THAT bunch of ma'ams come to mind.)
But I digress.
Ok, so it was a Sunday. Except it wasn't a typical Sunday spent lazing at home, made less sinful by a straineous workout at the gym (if I manage to drag myself there at all). Hob and I have decided to take a break from all the eating and do some sports. Sports of choice? Kayaking and cycling. And I get to take a break from driving cuz Hob had kindly volunteered to chauffer me around. (I've come to realise that I very much prefer to be in front of the wheel though. =p)
After a couple of detours around ECP and Water Venture (East Coast), where we realised did NOT provide kayak rentals, we finally ended up at Paddlerz.inc at Bedok Reservoir, where we kayaked, for the first time, in fresh water. The combination of the sun, the cool breeze and a good workout made it a great choice of activity, despite the slippery slipway and the lighter-weight fibreglass kayak which made launching the kayak and keeping the kayak on course a little more tricky. ah.. it feels so good to ache after a good workout.
Dinner was at Werner's Oven, an authentic German restaurant and bakery along Upper East Coast. The food was GOOD. Enjoyed my pork sausage, potato salad and bites of Hob's crispy and extremely sinful pork knuckle tremendously. Best of all? There was NO SERVICE CHARGE, although the waiters marched around us purposefully, delivering our food within an acceptable waiting time (determined by 2 hungry souls who were already salivating while looking through the delectable menu). In fact, I'm already starting to salivate at the reminder of yesterday's dinner.
The night being still relatively young, Hob and I decided to make full use of the remaining hours of the day to exercise the lower half of our torso by going cycling. Pretty refreshing to be cycling at night when ECP was clear of the usual human traffic.
It's no wonder that I'm aching today. ahh... the wonders of a day of exercise. I'm thinking we should plan for the next exercise session soon. I so need to reverse the direction that my weight is going.
