July Twenty-Fifth, 2008
Apologies for the lack of updates and photos. My home is basically like a hotel these days - a place to grab a few precious hours of sleep and to freshen up for the next work day. OT is like the norm, such that there is much amazement at leaving the office when the sky is still bright outside.
Life's not exactly all about work though. Last weekend was filled solid with a date, a seminar, a BBQ and basketball alumni, where I got back a bit of my tan together with some long-overdue exercise. Made me realise how much I missed basketball too.
The BBQ was great, even though it got rained on. Sorry that the photos are still languishing in my SD card back home. I promise to upload them asap! The original plan was to be at Changi Beach, but while shopping for the food stuff, it started raining cats and dogs. Luckily for us, Adel's fantastic family welcomed us to their house with open arms. They even got the pit set up and the fire going before we reached!
It was great fun catching up on everyone's life amidst the BBQ-ing and story-telling. How can I ever forget Hidayah's terrified shrieks and unglam attempt at squashing some unfortunate bug against me? Well. At least I got the best T-shirt design of the lot! haha. The girls were really sweet with the little souvenirs to mark the end of our 4 years in uni. Felt a bit bad for not preparing anything even though I've already stocked up on some gift ideas during my last trip to Ikea. Another highlight of the BBQ - they sprang a fantastic surprise on us June and July babies - 4 cupcakes for each baby, with symbolic designs on 2 of the 4 cupcakes. Mine comprised of a plane, symbolising my love for travelling, and a car, which has inevitably become my mascot. They got me a shirt from Zara and a Jodi Picoult book too! That got me grinning from ear to ear. Will get the shirt down to Zara for sleeve-length alteration ASAP so that I can wear this Vit-L brand of shirt during our next meet up!
Activities aside, I'm happily living on cloud nine these days, quoting from someone's wall post on my facebook. Life's all sunny and all colours seem more vibrant recently, even with the lack of sleep.
This song is dedicated to that special someone:
你 看穿我的冷漠
亲吻我的烦忧
不在乎我曾经的错
如果不是你的款款温柔
还以为这爱 只是一个传说
请 相信我的承诺
虽然有点笨拙
但我看见幸福的风
如果我把我的手 放在背后
愿不愿意牵着一起走
愿不愿意牵着到最后。
Just like an angel, you've entered my life and brightened everything with your smile.
And I thank YOU, for this and for putting your faith in me.
